Pool Builder Stats You Should Care About

Recently our agency looked at almost 300 pool builder websites in the state of Florida. In doing that we have been able to gain insights into what the macro trends are for Pool Builders across the Sunshine State. We’ll keep this updated as we expand into future markets also giving an evolving view of not just Florida but pool installers across the USA.

Top Pool Builder Website Statistics

  • 85% of Pool Builder websites use Blue and White as their main brand colours

  • 75% of Pool Builders in FL get less than 50 website visits per month

  • The average website traffic for Pool Builders in FL is under 2,000 visits per year.

  • 50% of Pool Builders rank for 22 keywords or less

  • 96% of sites are slow on mobile

 

In the above graph the data shows that although the average number of keywords in Google for pool builders is 296 the bottom 75% of our almost 300 sites reviewed show for 22 or less keywords.

Traffic for poool builders in FL show to be 214 monthly visits on average but as with keywords the bottom 75% in Q3 receive less than 50 website visits per month.

 

Website Stats

  • 85% of Pool Builder websites use Blue and White as their main brand colours.
    Leaving just 15% of the rest using other colours. Of those 15% we have observed that many are using Teal and White also or, Black and Blue. Colours outside of that are rarely used and therefore stand out the most. (Pool Builder Website Gallery)
  • Just under half of all Pool Builders (42%) are using WordPress to build their website. 3% are using GoDaddy website builder and just 2.5% are on Squarespace.
  • 75% of Pool Builders in FL get less than 50 website visits per month. The top 25% (approx 60 websites) split a total of 56,000 visits between them (933 per site on average).
  • The average website traffic for Pool Builders in FL is 215 visits per month. Which equates for less than 2,000 visits per year.
  • 50% of Pool Builders rank for 22 keywords or less in Google. This shows a big opportunity for pool builders to use SEO to set themselves apart from the pack. 
  • The high end of pool builders in FL pull statistics up across the board. Statistics show on average Pool Builders have 1,000 backlinks but the bottom 75% of sites have 312 links or less. The top quartile make up over double of the 1,000 site average.
  • 83% of sites don’t have a Facebook pixel installed (or so it appears there may be some false negatives here because of things like Tag manager)
  • 72% of sites are slow and received a speed performance score of a C or lower

  • 82% need to add Alt attributes to all images
  • 72% should aren’t using Local Business Schema to help Google identify their business
  • The average homepage word count for pool builders is just 633 words.
  • Most Pool Builders Headlines do not speak to customer desires but instead are generic (things like “welcome” or “X Pool Builder”) or, talk about what experience (35 years experience in pools) and awards (award-winning pool builder).
 

Social Media Stats

  • 70% have Facebook linked the other 30% dont have facebook linked to their website.
  • 42% have an Instagram account linked
  • 80.5% don’t have a YouTube channel
    Plenty of opportunities to create and link an associated YouTube channel
  • 76% don’t use X and 74% don’t use LinkedIn to market their business
  • 40% don’t have a Google My Business Profile linked to their website.
  • Customers have left over 10,000 reviews for the Florida-based Pool Builders. Pool Builders on average have 65 reviews on their Google Business Profile. However, in practice, only 20% of Pool Builders have actually achieved 65 reviews or more
